Mrs. Emma L. Carnahan, 91 of Rt.2, Sumner, died 31 Jan 1981 in a local nursing home. Funeral services were held Monday morning 2 Feb in Tigertown Church with Rev. Herbert Sherwood officiating. Burial was in Tigertown Cemetery under the direction of Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home. Mrs. Carnahan was born in Blossom on 23 Feb 1889, daughter of Henry Ray and Elizabeth Ponder Ray. She attended Blossom schools and married W.A. Carnahan on 9 May 1908, he preceded her in death on 14 Oct 1965. She was a member of the Tigertown Methodist Church. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Creed (Lora) Brown, Mrs. Mabel Lynn and Mrs. Johnnie Wood, all of Tigertown; one son, Billy Carnahan of Hurst; one sister, Mrs. Brice Martin of Shawnee, Okla.; two brothers, Henry Ray and Tom Ray, both of Blossom; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
