IN FOND REMEMBRANCE
Mary Tannehill (Young/Jung), daughter of Alfred and Nancy Tannehill, was born Jan. 31, 1846 near Mt. Vernon, Mo., died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Rhodes, near Ocie, on June 28, 1937, being 91 years, 4 months and 28 days old.
Aunt Mame, as she was called was married to Charles Young at Fort Scott, Kans., at the age of 25, To his union 8 children were born. One son, Charles, died in infancy; another son, George died July 28, 1933, at the age of 57. Her husband died June 21, 1909.
Six children survive: Mr. Ted Young and Mrs. Cora Bonner of Rogersville, Mo.; Mrs. Jessie Rhodes, Protem; Mrs. Minnie Rhodes, Ocie; Mrs. Etta Ward, Lutie; Mrs. Florence Peacock, Longrun; she also leaves 21 grand children and 17 great grand children, a host of other relatives and and friends, who mourn her death.
She was a member of the General Baptist church for many years and lived a devoted christian life till the Lord saw fit to call her away.
She was laid to rest in the Protem cemetery on June 29. Services were conducted by Rev. G.A. Shaffer.
She was a loving mother, a kind friend and neighbor, always ready to help in sickness. She was a friend to all.
She is sadly missed by all who knew her. The last six months of her life she was bed fast. All was done for her that loving hands could do.
