Martha Louise (James) Earp, 87, of Dow, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Beare Manor Nursing Center. Martha was born on April 26, 1929, in Dow, to John Wesley and Melinda Caroline (Warner) James. She married Floyd James Earp on November 27, 1944, in Dow. She was the last of the original James'.
She loved singing and garage sales. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Earp; daughter, Linda Louise Ladd; six brothers, Melvin, J.W. "Buddy", Edward, Alva, Odis Ray and J.B. James, and 10 sisters, Reba Mae, Retha, Flossie, Elsie, Baby Girl James, Opal, Edna, Dorothy, Verga and Leona Faye.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Welters, Alec Suter, Robert Ladd, Larry James, Albert Smith and Pat Thornton. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Brumley-Mills Chapel in Hartshorne with Jerry Earp and Alfred Smith officiating. Burial will be at Blanco Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne. Family will be having lunch at the American Legion Post No. 180 in Hartshorne after the services and all are welcome.
