Memorial services for Mrs. N.Paul (Dorothie) Nissen, 62, Newport Beach, Calif., former Winona resident who died Jan. 19 at Hoag Memorial Hospital, Newport Beach, were held Monday at St. Joachim's Church there, the Rev. Msgr. Thomas Nevin officiating.
The daughter of Leigh E. and Gertrude Steichen Speltz, the family lived at 475 Main St., Winona, many years. She studied music at College of Saint Teresa and attended Winona State College before her marriage to N. Paul Nissen. They moved to California in 1948. She was a member of the Orange County Philharmonic Society, Child Guidance Center of Orange County, Children's Home Society, Irvine Coast County Club, and the Southern California Women's Golf Association.
Survivors are: her husband; one son, James, at home; four daughters, Mrs. Joan Starr, Las Vegas, Nev.; Mrs. Susan Hemington, Laguna Beach, Calif.; Miss Greta Nissen, at home, and Miss Linda Nissen, Balboa Island, Calif.; one grandchild; and one sister, Mrs. Elaine Baker, Costa Mesa, Calif.
