Born Oct. 9, 1933, in Dahinda to Thomas E. and Meta A. Pennington Collopy, he married Marilyn (Moore) Collopy on June 14, 1952, in Dahinda. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Janet Collopy of Williamsfield and Connie Zerull of Geneseo; two sons, Mike of Gilson and Dan of Dahinda; one sister, Shirley Rippy of Galesburg; one brother, Merrill of Dahinda; and seven grandchildren.
One brother preceded him in death.
He was a farmer in Persifer, Sparta and Walnut Grove townships. He owned and operated Joe Collopy and Sons Trucking.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dahinda and Pacific Masonic Lodge 66, AF&AM, in Knoxville.
Burial will be in Williamsfield Cemetery.
