Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Ashbrook, 87, were held Thursday, March 17 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home at 2:30 o'clock. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. Rev. Kavanaugh Loy was in charge of the services. Mrs. Ashbrook died at her home at 216 S. Jackson Street Tuesday, March 15, at 6:30 p.m. She was the daughter of the late William Bailey and Laura Holt Bailey and was born in Adair County on June 21, 1867. She professed faith in Christ at an early age in life and was a member of the First Methodist Church. Mrs. Ashbrook united in marriage to J. W. Ashbrook on April 28, 1894. He survives. To this union one son and two daughters were born. Surviving are J. Paul Ashbrook and Mrs. Layton Sanders, both of Campbellsville, and Mrs. James Close, 1812 W. Hill St., Louisville, Ky. Besides husband and children, Mrs. Ashbrook is survived by many other relatives and friends. Mr. Ashbrook, a retired ice dealer, was in business many years here before his retirement several years ago. Pallbearers were O. J. Patton, Abb Curry, George Crabtree, L. C. Winfrey, Ray Smith and Bud Spratt.

Mrs. Sallie Sanders of 411 Bowman Street in Campbellsville, daughter of the late Mr. James W. Ashbrook and Mrs. Laura Susan Bailey Ashbrook was born in Taylor County, Ky., January 17, 1900. She died suddenly at 5 a.m., Monday, July 23, 1979 at her home. She was 79 years of age. She was a member of the Campbellsville Christian Church. She united in marriage to Mr. Layton Sanders May 25, 1914. He preceded her in death July 25, 1968. She is survived by one foster daughter: Mrs. Patricia Patterson of Bossier City, Louisiana; two foster grandsons: Mr. Robert Allen Patterson of Campbellsville and Mr. Mark Edward Patterson of Bossier City, Louisiana. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, July 25, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Chapel in Campbellsville by the Rev. Gary Templeton. Burial was in the Brookside Cemetery.
