Funeral service for Teresa Lynn Holmes Higdon, 52, of Decatur will be Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Harold Coomer and the Reverend Bobby Carter officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Higdon, who died Saturday, February 9, 2013, was born September 17, 1960, in Cullman County to Leslie Eugene Holmes and Lizzie Averine Childers Holmes. She grew up in Eva, but was a resident of Decatur. She was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charles Holmes.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Higdon; one daughter, Megan Hudson; one brother, Joel Holmes (Melvie); and one sister, Jean Grimes (Tommy).

Pallbearers were Michael Saint, Jeff Easter, Nathan Holmes, Grant Holmes, Steve Childers and Jeff Frost.

The family requests that donations be made to any Breast Cancer Organization.
