The funeral service for Mr. Joel Holmes will be Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Peck Funeral Home with the visitation being held on Monday June 19, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Dr. Byron Brown and Brother Randy Sanders will be officiating. Mr. Holmes passed away at the age of 61 Thursday, June 15, 2023. He was born to Leslie and Lizzie Childers Holmes on March 25, 1962 in Cullman County. Joel retired as a journeyman machinist from United Space Boosters in Huntsville, AL and returned to his love of farming. He was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church. Joel is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Charles Holmes; his sisters Jean Grimes and Teresa Higdon; his niece, Erica Holmes; his first wife, Pam Frost Holmes and his grandparents.
He is survived by his loving family:
His wife of 31 years, Melvie Taylor Holmes
Son, Grant Logan Holmes (Katie Tyree Holmes and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, aunts , uncles and friends.
Pall bearers will be Jeff Easter, Nathan Holmes, Grant Holmes, Stanley Hall, Jeff Frost, George Frost and Chad Brown
