The Baker McAuley cemetery is a very old abandoned cemetery located on McAuley's Bluff Road. It is about 3/4 mile from the intersection of Birdsong Rd and TN 191. It is on the North side of the road on a slight rise. It has been many years since there was a burial here. The remains of a very old fence is evident. There is one brick cairn that has been plastered over and embellished with Mussel shells. The brick have the identifying mark of "H" on each and are very old. There are perhaps 10 to 15 unmarked graves here. Three are outlined with bricks. The land owner stated the only person she knew buried here was Mr. McAuley, who reportedly tended the oil lanterns marking the river channel for the steam boats during that era. All other burial information obtained from Funeral Home records.
