This cemetery is accessable by boat and by hiking:
If you choose to boat the river, put in at Kelly Station campground, on the Allegheny River, just below the Kelly Station Lock and go down river or if you launch at Rosston, above Kelly Station, proceed about two miles down river and go thru the Kelly Station lock and continue to proceed down river. As you pass the only island, about 2 miles below Kelly Station look up on top of the very high and steep hill, on the left, until you see a Gazebo, at the top of the hill. The cemetery is directly across the river, from this Gazebo and is about 150 yards, inland, from the right side river bank shore line. It is visible when there are no leaves but in the summer time you will not be able to see it from the boat. (Caution, get out of your boat only at the rocks you see on this shore line, about 100 yds upriver from the cemetery, since the mud, all along this riverbank, is quite deep, sticky and stinks like a dead fish...Don't say you weren't warned!)
If you choose to walk:
From the new bridge below Ford City, Armstrong County, PA, over the Allegheny River, drive south on State Route 128 (Ford City Road) for 6.58 miles, from this bridge, to the intersection of Murphy Bottom Road. Turn left onto Murphy Bottom Road and proceed for 1.3 miles to the first 90 degree bend and it is a bend to the left. Park in the pulloff at this bend and walk 1/2 mile down the steep hill, on the gas line right of way. At the bottom of the hill, about 150 yds from the river, turn right onto the path, you will see, for about 200 yards to the cemetery. (Remember, it's a half mile down and that makes it a half mile back up. This is not a hike for someone who is not in pretty good shape, especially in the late summer when the brush is grown up tall...take the boat if you can't hike this unimproved trail through the hills and woods. Also, watch for ticks
