Add PhotosThe Bykovnia Cemetery holds the remains of Ukrainian victims of one of the numerous Soviet crimes - the purges of 1937-1941. It was established on 30 April 1994.
Its full Ukrainian name is: Національний історико-меморіальний заповідник «Биківнянські могили» (Natsionalnyi istoriko-memorialnyi zapowidnyk "Bykivnianski mogyly") or
the Graves of the Bykownia State Historical and Memorial Reserve.
Bykivnia is the largest burial place in Ukraine of victims of the bloody communist regime. "It is located in the Dnipro district of Kyiv, on the northeastern outskirts of the city, 1.5 km from the former village of Bykivnia". (source: uk.wikipedia.org)
For the 3,435 Polish victims of the Katyń Massacre from the so-called "Ukrainian Katyn list" see the Kyiv Bykivnia Polish War Cemetery on findagrave.
It is a separate cemetery of the Bykivnia complex established by the Polish authorities in 2011-2012 and called: Polski Cmentarz Wojenny w Kijowie-Bykowni in Polish and Польськое військового кладовища в Київській Биківні in Ukrainian
