The 'Indian Burial ground'.

It is the burial site of three Pottowattomie people from 1838. The three were moving west in 1838 and stopped by Horney Creek in what became Logansport, Cass County, Indiana. At that spot they died, but were buried at the burial ground. The site was described as being on the north side of Horney Creek, later known as being on the east side of the track, and just south of Smith Street (in Logansport). At least three people were buried there, but perhaps more from before 1838. The place of their graves was known by James Horney, who explained the location he knew, and his father owned the land there. (Not clear who is buried there exactly.)

Mentioned on page 445 of the book titled, "History of Cass County, Indiana: From its Earliest Settlement to the Present Time; with Biographical Sketches and References to Biographies Previously Compiled", by Jehu Z. Powell, published in 1913.
