Henry Miller Family Cemetery
Rockport, Hot Spring County, Arkansas, USA
This cemetery was originally located on the Henry Miller Farm in the NE ¼, Sec 20, T4S-R17W in Hot Spring County, Arkansas. The first burial in the cemetery was likely around 1839, several years before the Rockport Cemetery was established approximately 1 mile NE. In 1852, the land surrounding the Miller Cemetery was sold to Nicholas Miller (an unrelated Miller family, originally from NC). The Miller Farm property has been in the hands of the Joe C Keith, LLC for many years. Jane Keith Rice reported on 12/1/2023 that all traces of this cemetery have been obliterated by occasional flooding from the nearby Ouachita River, and later by cultivation. Therefore, the precise location of the Miller Family Cemetery may never be determined. In 1852, a land conveyance signed by Henry's son, George C Miller and Nicholas Miller reserved a 1 ac tract in the NE ¼, Section 20, T4S-R17W as a graveyard "unto the said party of the second part (George C Miller), his heirs and assigns, forever."
