Photos

The Annunciation B.V.M. parish was established in 1860 by Bishop James Wood, and the task of building the church was delegated to Reverend John McAnany. Due to the Civil War, it would not be until 1863 when the church was dedicated to divine worship.

Father McAnany continued to serve the church until his death in 1880, after which Reverend Father Filan was appointed the church's second pastor until his death in 1887.

Both priests are interred on the church grounds.
