Photos

Built in the 12c and abandoned in the 19c when a new church was built in the centre of the present village. It was demolished in the 1960s as no longer safe, the ruins and gravestones were still on the site when the church was deconsecrated in 1993. Plans formed in 2011 for the new HS2 rail line led to a full excavation of the site which has been widely reported in the media. 3000 bodies were removed from the graveyard and will be reinterred elsewhere.
