Reverend's Nathaniel Thomas Harrison II and Nathan Oglesby Bell II were Circuit Rider Preachers in the P. Elder Holston Conference under Reverend Francis Asbury. Nathaniel Harrison was from the Brunswick VA Conference and Nathan Bell was from the Carteret NC conference. They both moved to Buncombe Circa 1808. They met through Francis Asbury at a conference in Buncombe that first year. They built a wood structure meeting place on the Harrison Plantation in Sandymush. Nathaniel died in 1826 but the locals met here until Nathan died in 1834 and Reverend Nathaniel Thomas Harrison III moved to Murray County Georgia and formed Harrisons Chapel in Crandall with his brother Jeremiah in 1835 before the Cherokee removal. No burials after 1834 are known and no remnants of the Chapel remain.
