This is a family cemetery for the Snowbird Family. It is located on their small farm north of Elm Mott.
History:
Timothy Wayland [ Tawodi Yona Astila Edohi ] "Hawk" Snow was part Cherokee and Apache Indian and his wife Jacqueline [ Unuledaganogeda Walela ] Snow-Bird was either Cherokee or Chickasaw Indian.
Walela also has the Indian blood through her father. Snow and Bird are a combination of her husband's and father's names.
Walela's birth name was Jacqueline Younger and was born on March 6th, 1946. Her father was Raymond Clarke Younger of Elm Mott.
Timothy was born on August 23rd, 1957.
They were Indian Activists who participated in the American Indian Movement, AIM. In 1973 they went to help out the Lakota Indian people and ended up in Wounded Knee, South Dakota and were involved in that standoff with the Federal Government for 72 days.
During that time, on February 27th, 1973 Federal officers exchanged gunfire with the AIM members resulting in two Native Americans being killed and a Federal Marshal being permanently paralyzed by a bullet.
Timothy Snow, his first wife Jacqueline Snow-Bird, and brother Phillip Eugen Snow were cremated and their ashes were spread on their homeplace, "The Reveille Ranch" at 550 Hilltop Road just north of Elm Mott. which has been designated a Burial Ground on January 1st, 2004, this is registered at the McLennan County Courthouse Annex, Document number 2004002020.
Timothy Wayland "Hawk" Snow's gravesite in on the bank of a small stock tank on the road leading to the house. He passed away on November 23rd, 2019.
It's unsure where Walela Unuledaganogeda Snowbird's gravesite is located.
There are several other gravesites near the house but it's undetermined if they are possibly family members or family pets.
