St Andrew's Old Kirk is a former Church and Monastery located in North Berwick. The site was founded in the seventh century by monks from Lindisfarne and became a significant place of pilgrimage in the medieval period. The use of the building as the local parish church continued post-reformation, however a large portion of the building was swept into the sea during a storm in 1656. The last burial took place in the kirkyard in 1673, and the Church at Kirk Ports was completed in 1664 to replace the Old Kirk as parish church. During excavations of the site in 2000, over 30 skeletons were unearthed and several headstones recovered. All that remains of the church is the porch, with the rest of the building being quarried for material over time.
