Reverend Alexander Edmiston was a leader in the United Brethren congregation at Julian when it was founded in the fall of 1869. He died in 1877, leaving his farm to Mary Tolbert with instructions to build a church nearby, but his directive was never carried out. He was buried on his land and a marble headstone was set up over the grave. The stone has since fallen. Legend has it there are two graves at the site - the other for his amputated arm which was allegedly buried in the grave beside him. Whether Reverend Edmiston actually lost an arm and buried it prior to his death is not known.

Directions: From Wingate at the intersection of Routes 144 and S. Eagle Valley Road (Alternate Route 220), go south toward Unionville for about 1 mile. Turn right onto Egypt Hollow Road and go 1.6 miles to the home at 403 Egypt Hollow Road. The grave is in the woods across from that house. It is about 50 feet in from Egypt Hollow Road and 100 to 150 feet down from Brower Road.
