The Basilica of Sts. Erasmus and Pancratius in Jelenia Góra (prior to 1945: Hirschberg) was first mentioned in 1303. It was rebuilt in the late 14th century after a fire, and again following fires in 1550 and 1662. The interior was redecorated in the baroque style by the Jesuits in the 18th century, with a high alter made by the Norwegian-Silesian sculptor Thomas Weißfeld. In 2011 it was declared a minor basilica by Pope Benedict XVI. The exterior of the church is decorated with numerous Renaissance and baroque epitaphs from the 16th through 18th centuries.
