Add PhotosThe first known survey of this small family burial ground was conducted by Dr. Allan E. Marble on May 29, 1969. Per his usual custom, he did not name the cemetery but assigned it an identifying number, in this case 88, and cited the location as Bridgetown.
At a later date, Genweb volunteers transcribed Dr. Marble's handwritten notes and made them available online at Rootsweb. They named it "Brown Cemetery" and used Dr. Marble's location, Bridgetown.
At the time of Dr. Marble's survey, Bridgetown may have been the correct community. However, boundaries have changed since 1969 and the location of the cemetery now lies within the community of Bridgetown East.
The two headstone transcripts listed here at Find a Grave are derived from Dr. Marble's handwritten notes recorded during his survey in 1969. However, this cemetery no longer exists. It was destroyed by construction in the 1970s and the stones were broken up, according to various neighbours familiar with its fate.
