Add PhotosMarysville African Methodist Episcopal Church is now gone. Marysville was a mining town, and all in the cemetery are of the African-American race. The last known burial, Aaron Delige, occurred in 1896. At one time there were two grave stones on the site, as well as eight unmarked graves, but now one stone remains. Mr. Gibson has a deed showing the wedge shape of the cemetery and its boundaries. Burt Delige, a convicted murderer, was executed in 1918. He was not permitted to be buried in the cemetery, so he was buried in the woods on his parents' land near the cemetery. There is no marker for him.
