The Church of the Holy Rood, Edwalton dates from the 12th century. The chancel was rebuilt by A. Brewill & B. Bailey in 1894 and a vestry was added by L.W. Nunn in the 1950s. There is some evidence that this church was dedicated to St Lawrence in the past.
