Forty-nine family names are represented. The most common surnames are Steevens (22), Edmonds (16), Green (8), Hargrave (8), Fage (7), Horwood (6), Wright (5), Woster (5). The graves are laid out from North to South in roughly 10 rows. The graves in the East and West halves are not laid out evenly one to the other except for the 9th row which extends across the two halves. The original plan, from which this information is taken, was drawn up in 1827 and added to thereafter. It is possible that previous generations of Friends were buried there as the burial ground is recorded as having been in use from 1682. In 1937, the property was conveyed to the town. The original wall was torn down.
