The Old Christian Cemetery Abbottabad Cantt (Cantonment) sometimes also called 'Gora Qabristan' (Whites cemetery) , Abbottabad, Pakistan , was originally consecrated in 1853. Later on, when St Luke's Church (Anglican) was founded in October 1864, the Old Cemetery was formally attached to it and the Church's Vicar was also Chaplain maintaining and supervising the cemetery. Between 1853 and 1947, most of the burials here were only British or European people; but post-1947, there are several native Christian graves too. According to St Luke's Church records, there were some 430 graves/burials here between 1853 and 1947. Of these , possibly 80 or so old graves from this period survive, still, mostly in a bad way. Perhaps around 40-50 are still physically verifiable. I have tried to list most of these here. I have some further notes, taken subsequent to research, as well as photos, and hope to add these too later.
