The stone of Catharine Heckman who died July 19, 1915, is the oldest and therefor presumably the first burial to take place on this site. The most resent stone is that of Anne Margaret Mulcaster who died December 20, 1967. There are 23 souls interned in this cemetery. An additional two persons, Charles and Bessie Apgar, had their ashes buried on the larger site but were not part of the original cemetery. They are also listed with this cemetery.
As the Brethren Home grew and became Brethren Village the site grew from its original 10 acres to the 153 plus acres it occupies today. By inclusion the cemetery which once was located in a back corner of the property is now more closely in the center of the site. As with many cemeteries in older areas this one was found to be in a very inappropriate place. Changes in buildings in the area required the grade to be raised by more than 10 feet and the decision was made to not disturb the graves but to move the stones to a nearby area. A 1970's brochure shows the stones arranged in two rows behind Oakwood House, about 100 yards east of the original cemetery. At some later date the bases of the stones were removed and the stones were placed in their current location as a monolithic, ground level rectangle.
