Located across the road from Greenpond Baptist Church and established in 1918 by James Denny and Cora Crim Darby for the use as burial grounds for the people of the Greenpond community. The cemetery is divided into 91 lots with each lot containing 10 grave sites. Lots cost $100.00 each and all are thought to have been purchased. One hundred + graves showing as located in the Greenpond Baptist Church cemetery are actually located in the Darby Cemetery.

Darby Cemetery is owned by a private land owner and only association with Greenpond Baptist Church is a cemetery fund that provides for grounds maintenance. Darby Cemetery is bordered on three sides by the Greenpond Memorial Cemetery owned by Carolina Memorial Parks LLC.
