The Nelson/Pidcock Family Cemetery is located on the old Nelson homestead. There are at least five burials at this site and possibly more. The first burial appears to be that of John Nelson's father-in-law, Victor McLind. The homesteader John Nelson died in 1937 and is buried there.
From National Association for Cemetery Preservation, Inc: "Land records show John Nelson got his first homestead exemption in 1915 and that is was patented in 1919. He got a second homestead exemption, which included this burial site, in 1922. The patent on this land was not recorded until 1940. In 1940 the land was transferred to Andrew Nelson and in 1944 transferred again within the family. In 1951 Carl Nelson sold the land to E. C. Aspegren. In 1977 the land was transferred from Aspegren to Aspegren. We believe that Mr. Aspegren died and Helen remarried to a Conners. In 1980 Conners transferred the family cemetery to Carl, David and Marguerite Nelson. At this time they also received an easement to reach the cemetery.
