Add PhotosAlsace Township: From Pricetown Rd. 2.8 miles north of Hampden Blvd., sharp right onto Antietam Rd., .7 mile, then left on Mexico Rd. Site is on the southwest corner of Mexico Rd. and Jessica Meadows Drive.
History: Several burials were noted and 1 tombstone remained about 1950. John Schmeck of Alsace was a land owner in 1752 and died November 2, 1762 leaving the plantation to his son, Valentine. Johannes -Nov, 2, 1762, his wife Elizabeth and his son Valentine might be buried here. William Null was also a nearby land owner in 1752. Likely this is also the Noll family cemetery for the two families were intermarried. Shown on the 1862 Atlas the following are included: Daniel, Henry and U. Noll and Henry, John and Samuel Schmeck. Site location reported by REK HSBC, GA-K47.
Gravemarker and inscription: Copied by REK about 1950
Schmeck Elisabeth (Jager) w/o Heinrich July 30, 1786-June 30, 1833 aged 4611 0
From Trinity Lutheran records, Reading
Schmeck Catharine d/o Heinrich & Magdalena Oct. 25, 1805-Nov. 26, 1805
Burial from First Reformed Records, Leinbach funeral records
Noll Barbara d/o Valentine d. Feb. 17, 1795 aged 9 6 22
Observations: The site is very large and more than covers the southwest corner lot of Mexico and Jessica Meadows Drive. Graves are laying almost north to south. At the very back of the yard is brush which prevents an accurate accounting in that particular area.
