Add PhotosChapel Hill, NC 27516. The cemetery is located down the driveway-road, park at the end. Behind the house at the end of the road is a logging trail which leads to the west. There is a thick forest of pines on the left. Just as they give way to the hardwoods, turn left into the woods. Walk down one hill and as you walk up the next hill you will notice a thick ground cover of ivy on the top of that hill. This marks the Cemetery. There are several small stones in the ground along with several pronounced depressions. The west side of the cemetery is close to the Edwards' west property line and the Braxton's east line. On the west side are several depressions and a stone is near the southwest side. Another small stone was located on the mid-southeastern side.
Clarence says this is where John and Clary Moore, and thier son James (father of Chesley Moore) Moore are buried.
Earnest Edwards, the property owner as of1990, remembers the cemetery when he was a boy, "The cemetery was once on the edge of a field where the pines now grow. You could plow up the Jonquils and they would always come back." This is probably a homesite.
Mrs. Braxton who lives across the road said in 1990 that the old Moore house is still there on a dirt road just south of the road to the cemetery.
