New Zion Baptist Church was started by Rev. C.C. Collins from Brown Creek and Rev. Robert Smith from Sims Burrough in September 1907. Called New Zion because it was composed of members from Mt. Zion and New Hope Baptist Church. Rev. E. A. Anderson was the first pastor of the church. Many members are also buried in Fairfield Baptist cemetery.
