The church appears to date from the 1500s and is a beautiful place. The inside of the church is well worth a visit when it's open – "Here is a massive 16th century family altar tomb dominating the tiny interior. It retains its colourful paint and gilded detailing and shows a man in armour laying next to his wife, both with their hands together in prayer." – Wales Online. The family tomb belongs to the Aubrey, Bassett & Mansel families who died out in the 1800's. The family built a large Manor house in the village & were prominent people within the Vale of Glamorgan. The Manor House was once the grandest House for miles, its sadly now just bricks & mortar. With nature reclaiming the now ruins covering it in creeping ivy & other fauna, after it fell derelict following the last living line of the family dying out in 18th Century.
