Crocker Cemetery
Bessie, Jefferson County, Alabama, USA
These words were copies from a web article. I have not personally been to this cemetery, but was researching the Crocker family when I found the website with the following information:
"This cemetery is located just off Flat Top Road near the Bessie - Flat Top Cutoff Road that is to the west. It is not accessible to anyone who is not in reasonably good climbing. I don't know who owns the land now, but it is apparently the owners of the Nuclear Power plant near there. The cemetery is hard to get to but considering that it hasn't had any new burials since 1906. It is near the transmission lines from the power plant. The picture was taken in February of this year, 2002. I have been told by cousins that the fence shown in the picture originally encircled the cemetery.
The listing and picture of this cemetery were taken by Charles Crocker who owns the copyright to them. You may not reprint them in any form with out permission of the copyright owner.
The parents of the children listed below were Jackson C. Crocker and Nancy Jenkins Crocker, his second wife, who were married on Oct. 12, 1870"
Another description of the cemetery was from the Hueytown Historical Society web page:
"From the intersection of Flat Top Road (County Road 12) and U. S. Hwy 78 in Graysville, proceed 2.8 miles west on Flat Top Road. Turn left onto the dirt road and proceed almost 1/10 of a mile and stop. The cemetery is at the top of a steep knoll on your left."
