Lovett Cemetery
Lovettville, Hinton Census Division, Alberta, Canada
Only the burials noted in this FAG memorial are known. Searches of provincial archives, municipal records, and corporate mine records have garnered no complete listing of burials, though it is obvious that many more interments exist beyond those with readable headstones.
The cemeteries were cleaned and restored about 1975 when a Government grant was received. Restoration included placing wooden markers on unidentifiable graves. An independent (non funded)restore of the cemetery began once again in 2013 and was largely completed by November 2014.
Permission to enter is required. Access is limited by a locked gate to the mining lease on which the cemetery exists & there are clearly posted No Trespassing signs.
After two years of communication, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission place a memorial marker on the site in October 2014 to recognize John Lloyd's WWI service.
Please let me know if you want any of the on-line memorials turned over to you. It is easy for me to do so. What that means is that you could leave each memorial as-is, or you could enter additional information in the bio section and/or link the headstones to parents & siblings. (I've done so where connections are obvious.) More importantly, if a researcher comes across the site, is interested in a particular burial, & the memorial is held by a family member, it is more likely that a query about the family can be answered.
Please note that I have also mirrored this FAG memorial with a tree on Ancestry. I completed enough family research for each known Lovett burial to enable family members to connect.
