Hull Farm Cemetery is located just off the road from Schellsburg to Fishertown, in Napier Twp, Bedford County, PA. This is the first Cemetery used by the Hull Family in Bedford County. Samuel HULL (1749-1808) has a stone here along with his eldest son Gabriel HULL (1775-1847) & his family. Samuel's (1749-1808) youngest son is Benjamin HULL (1791-1868) & he and his family are at the Hull Free Will Baptist Cemetery, New Paris, Napier Twp., Bedford Co. PA which is located about 3 miles away. Samuel HULL's father was Isaac HOLL (Isaac had 30 books & a large number of tools in his estate) & he was probably Mennonite.
This cemetery was cleaned up and written about in a book done in 1982 by Ruth Hull Robertson who was the gr-gr-gr granddaughter of Samuel HULL. The book is at the Bedford County PA Historical Society. The cemetery with its fence is now beautifully kept up by the owners.
The large tree in the back of the cemetery in the photograph blew over and is no longer there. It fell between the rows & only one stone was destroyed. In 2003 family members, descendents of Gabriel & Benjamin HULL, repaired stones & leveled stones that were damaged from the tree & its roots.
In this cemetery are native stones carved by the Boylans. These are hand carved stones with interesting mistakes. Most of the stones in this cemetery still have their footstones which are carved with initials including the Boylan stones.
