Add PhotosWhat was the Hawkins Plantation now includes the Antique Farm Equipment Museum, the Winery, two restaurants, the Antler Hill shops, and the Inn on Biltmore. It was owned by Benjamin Hawkins at his death in 1827 and was left to the two younger sons with the two older sons named as guardians subject to a life estate of his widow under the terms of his Will which was found during the early part of 2013 among the land records of George Vanderbilt who had acquired the tract in the late 1880's.
The cemetery sits on the crest of a hill behind the Antique Farm Equipment Museum. You take the dirt road known as Antler Hill Road and travel to just short of the turn back over to the Inn on Biltmore. At that point you need to crawl over a fence and walk over the pasture to the top of the hill.
To go on the Biltmore Estate, one needs to pay admission or seek special permission of the owners for the purpose of vistiting the family graveyard.
