According to the book "Graeber im Wald", published by the City Archive of Horb, the Mühringen cemetery has existed since the early 16th century and is among the oldest in Württemberg. Jews from Horb, Haigerloch, Rexingen, Hemmendorf, Poltringen und Rottweill were also buried here.

The bronze plaque to the right of the entrance gate says (in English translation):
***Jewish Cemetery of Mühringen***
A burial place for 400 years. From time to time also for the dead of surrounding Jewish communities. Over 800 people found their resting place here - but not the last 14 Jewish citizens of Mühringen - they were dragged away in 1941 and murdered ...their remains put into makeshift graves or incinerated.
