Add PhotosWolf Coon Cemetery is located in SE4, NW4, NW4 of Section 14, Township 16 North, Range 25 East in Adair County, Oklahoma. It is approximately two miles south and one mile east of Peavine School.
In May 1937, Gus Hummingbird included this cemetery in a survey compiled by the Indian-Pioneer History Project of Oklahoma conducted by the Works Progress Administration. He noted the existence of six graves at this site, of which none contained monument inscriptions. Humminbird cited Frank Coon as the origianl landowner, but by 1937, J.H. Huckleberry owned the property. The Coon family founded the burial ground in 1890, but abandoned it by 1906.
This cemetery should not be confused with the Coon Cemetery (also called the Jim Coon Cemetery) located in Section 36, Township 16 North, Range 24 East also in Adair County, Oklahoma.
