Records are somewhat obscure but are sufficient to indicate that Humesville Cemetery was established in 1880 and thus is some three years older than the church. The first recorded burial is that of Thomas Young in 1880, followed by that of Wm. Curle in 1883. For nearly 50 years one of the main items of business conducted at the annual meeting of the church was the appointment of a committee to be responsible for cemetery upkeep. In recent years upkeep has been the responsibility of a group, mostly descendants of pioneers who perform necessary duties on a voluntary basis. In recent years Neil Hutchinson has been chairman of the committee with Frank Anderson as secretary-treasurer.

Established in 1880. It is a fenced cemetery with evergreens on three sides and a large gate in the centre of the east side. Just to the north of the gate is a smaller pedestrian gate with the inscription "This small walk-in gate is erected in memory of Neil Hutchinson".

A part of the town's story and those of its inhabitants from the early days of European settlement through roughly 1973 is told in the volume "A History of Elton Municipality in its First Century - Homesteaders and Homemakers", especially starting on page 38. A free digital version of this and many other Manitoba local history books can be found online in the University of Manitoba Digital Collections. There is also a list of such books organized by district and town name on the Manitoba Historical Society's website on their page entitled "Finding Aid: Manitoba Local History Books".
A list of burials in this cemetery is available from the Manitoba Genealogical Society (reference #0060), transcribed by a member or members in 1979. Also available to MGS members is a searchable online database named the "MGS Manitoba Name Index" (or MANI). Some additional information is contained in the 1996 MGS publication "Carved in Stone: Manitoba Cemeteries and Burial Sites" (revised edition, Special Projects Publication, 106 pages).
