Search Woodville Cemetery:

Location: US Hwy 17 South, go 0.1 mile, turn left on the Ridge Rd. (Hwy 99 E) and go 6.5 miles. Turn right at "WOODVILLE" and go 0.1 mile. The Cemetery is in the woods to the right (South).

History: Woodville, a small 100 acre plantation, was owned by Thomas Bryan in the 1830s. After Norman Page Gignilliat (1809-1871), son of Gilbert and Mary McDonald Gignilliat, married his second wife, Charlotte Trezvant, in 1838 he purchased Woodville Plantation. Gignilliat Family Papers state that 1 acre was reserved for the cemetery. The burials within the brick walls are their children. The two girls who died in Thomasville, Ga. were reinterred here after the War Between the States accoding to the same family papers.
