UPDATE, MARCH 2017: In spite of a professional cemetery restoration mounted by descendants and Davidson County's Metropolitan Historical Commission in May 2016, on 20 Jan 2017, a Davidson County Chancery Court approved a petition for the removal of the "cemetery" designation for this family's resting place, decreed that the petitioners (adjacent property owners) "may exhume all bodies located on the Property and reinter them...in a perpetual care cemetery," and awarded the petitioners "through the process of adverse possession, the Property in Fee Simple Absolute."

The bodies were reinterred at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Davidson County, and the former cemetery site was graded and graveled by 15 Mar 2017. Memorials for interred individuals, including at least 4 unknowns, are removed from this location and may be found at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
