Cemetery is on the north (right) side of road at a curve to the left. The Cemetery is in the west side yard of the private home located at this curve, about 75 feet from the road.
In 1820 a Freewill Baptist Church was organized here and called the Sluder Meeting House. A log church was built and the cemetery established.
The church building no longer exists.
The cemetery was unique in that the graves were dug in a diamond shape. Straw was used to cover and surround the casket and the grave filled with loose dirt.
The cemetery is small and fenced. A stone was set by the WashingtonCounty Cemetery Commission and paid for by Howard and Juanita Hinkle.
It is said that over 100 people were buried here but the names have been lost to history.
The cemetery is located in Washington Township on the northeast side of N. Rinkers Creek Road about 0.3 miles south of W. Bower Road.
The cemetery is listed in the Cemetery and Burial Grounds Registry of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and in the State Historical Architectural and Archaeological Research Database (SHAARD) with Cemetery Record Number CR-88-255 (Sluder Meeting House / Sludder Meeting House).
