A total of 373 acres owned by Leonard Carlos Ziglar,
Divided into four tracts, all adjoining each other for Leonard's children. On Nov.7,1868 Samuel B. Ziglar, son of Leonard, bought the land as one tract at public auction for $600.00. The land stayed in the family til after the 1900's.
The land was passed to Samuel Vaulie Ziglar,
son of Samuel B. Ziglar.
Samuel V. and wife Daisy Holder Ziglar passed
an were buried in Haywood Co,NC.
The land is still owned by a Ziglar.
In March 1992 the site was visited, by Mrs Deborah Ziglar Lewis of NC. She is a descendant of Michael and Elizabeth Catherine Welch Ziglar. Michael is the son of Leonard and Nancy Zimmerman Ziglar.
The cemetery was in bad shape and a road was being put in.
1/2 mile on Rhodes Rd. and off Hwy 772, Stokes Co.,NC.
These six people buried here had legible tombstones, and are within a chainlink fence area. The others buried here (about 17 unidentified graves)are marked with field
stones, are outside the fence. Possibly Ziglar's
that passed and didn't have the funds or knew
a stone cutter in the area.
Used field stones instead. The chain link fence
is down and on the ground.
