This is the Elrod Cemetery depicted on USGS topographical maps on the western shoulder of Blackburn Knob. The small family cemetery is situated between two rental units, accessible by private road only, and is shrouded by the rhododendron thicket on the right. Difficult to see without knowing it is there.

There seems to be others from this family buried here based on Death Certificates, but markers weren't found in a 1998 survey. Several of the children of Alexander and Mary, and their offspring, are buried in Caldwell County in the Hudson and Granite Falls vicinity.
