At .6 miles there is a bend in the road and a house sets up on the left hand side. Take a slight left turn onto Anderson Cemetery Road and follow it back to the cemetery.
There are at least 19 "unmarked" graves at this cemetery.
However, according to my Aunt, Naomi Anderson Kirby, my grandfather, Christopher Clellan Anderson helped to mark each site where a person was interred here with a stone. But there was no way of knowing who that person was, so there are no inscriptions on these stones. There is also listing of the names of people that are interred here in a Butler County Cemetery book from 1972, however, some people did not have dates of birth or death listed. For the most part those people are the ones that have a stone as a marker but no inscription. There is no way of knowing which stone belongs to who.
This cemetery may also be known as the Tolbert Cemetery after Elder Benjamin Tolbert who was the first to be buried here or possibly the Sampson Moore Cemetery. Sampson Moore had owned the land at one time as well.
