Add PhotosLocated in Brothersvalley Township, Somerset County, PA. The exact location of this site is unknown at this time as it was strip mined years ago and destroyed. The farm was owned by William Wesley Hauger in the 1930's. "Wesley" was married to Priscilla (Cober) Hauger, granddaughter of John and Elizabeth (Stahl) Knepper, the originators of this site. The farm was later owned by John Wesley Croner, grandson of William Wesley Hauger. From what I can tell, although not proven yet, this site was close to the Pine Hill area of Brothersvalley Township. Due to the headstones and the cemetery being destroyed, most of the information contained here was obtained from original transcripts from the 1930's.
NOTE: In the original transcription it was noted that there were at least 2 adult graves and one child's grave that were not inscribed. It was also noted that John J. & Annie Knepper were interred there but did not have a headstone. Also, Othaniel was not included on the original transcription but due to his death date it is most certain that he was buried here as well. It is possible that his grave is the one child's grave mentioned above that was not inscribed.
This was also referred to as the Cober Cemetery, not to be confused with the 2 other Cober Cemeteries in the area.
