Location Information: Trento lies east of the A22 and has its own autostrada exit. The A22 runs from Modena to Brennero and then to Innsbruck. Trento is 90 kilometres north of Verona. The Commission grave (No. 83) is found on the right hand side of the military cemetery, itself situated west of and next to the main Cimitero Monumentale on the Via Giusti, about 1 kilometre south of the city railway station. Cemetery address: Via Giusti - Via Madruzzo (TN). GPS Co-ordinates: 46.046817, 10.955064.
Historical Information: The Italians entered the war on the Allied side, declaring war on Austria, in May 1915. Commonwealth forces were at the Italian front between November 1917 and November 1918, and rest camps and medical units were established at various locations in northern Italy behind the front, some of them remaining until 1919. The grave of one Commonwealth servicemen of the First Word War was moved from the Austrian extension of the communal cemetery at Trento into the communal cemetery itself in 1930.
