From the 'Cumberland Valley Chronicles', "A Few Old Cemeteries" by Bill Burkhart (on file at Shippensburg Historical Society) pages 374-377:
Rebuck Graveyard
"About a mile west of the crossroads at the Otterbein United Methodist Cemetery on Route 641, at a barn about halfway between Newburg and Roxbury, a dirt lane leads south across the fields to Paxton's Run. Rebuck Graveyard is reached by following this lane south across the run (there is no bridge) and into a field. From this point the graveyard can be seen a short distance to the west close to the south bank of the run.
This family graveyard, 80' long by 50' wide, is well maintained and is enclosed by a board fence. It is on a farm that for many years in the 1800's was in the Rebuck name. Today (1975) the farm buildings are gone. They stood on the north side of the lane a few hundred feet from where it crosses the run.
To make this listing, I copied the headstones, which are moss covered and dim, in Oct. 1974 by rows from left to right, working west from the east or entrance side of the yard. Top wording, such as "In Memory of," is omitted so that each inscription can begin with the person's name or relationship. The last name is placed first as an aid to researchers (except where it would distort the inscription), a long dash ------ indicates unreadable data and my explanations are in parentheis. Each stone is a unit in print."
Fifty records follow the above description. There is easier access to the cemetery than the above description. A photo of the cemetery taken in 1974 is also in the book. In April 2011, all the stones that Burkhart recorded could be found except one. There are small stones in two corners of the cemetery. I looked at a few of the stones and did not see any names on them.
