McLean Cemetery
Zimco, Clarke County, Alabama, USA
There is no direct access path or road to McLean Cemetery. It is about 50 feet off Rotch Road and surrounded by tall pines, with a small stream on one side.
Zimco is a tiny town on Highway 84, west of Grove Hill, Alabama.
Directions:
At the 3-way intersection of Hwy 84 / Zimco Road / Winn-Church Road (aka Rotch Road), bear right onto Winn-Church Road, which becomes Rotch Road. Winn-Church will break off to the left after a couple miles. Remain straight on Rotch Road, which will meander around. Near its end, make a sharp, almost u-turn, right. The road then loops around to the area of the cemetery. Zoom in on the accompanying map to see the road in the woods. The cemetery is not visible from the road.
There are three marked graves - Catherine McDonald McLean (died 1868), John Lauchlin McLean (died 1910) and an unknown child with surname Allgood. There are possibly 30 unmarked graves.
The graves of William Alexander McDonald (died 1875) and his wife, Mary Jane McLean McDonald (died 1867), have not been confirmed. Most likely they are at McLean Cemetery within the unmarked graves.
