Located on the southeast corner of Carluke Road and Shaver Road, this cemetery was in use as early as 1831. The first Presbyterian church in the area was established in 1846 and in 1850 a permanent building known as White Church was completed. However, during that same year, there was a split amongst Presbyterians and a small group removed themselves from the congregation to form their own church called Red Brick Presbyterian (officially Knox Presbyterian Church).
In 1866, White Church became officially known as Erskine Presbyterian, although it was still referred to as White Church because of its color. By 1886, the congregations of White Church and Red Brick Presbyterian had reunited, making way for the demolition of White Church in 1898.
The cemetery remains open for burials and is used by the present day community of St Paul's Presbyterian Church of Carluke.
Note: This cemetery is not to be confused with White Church Cemetery on White Church Road in Glanbrook, Hamilton Municipality.
